Primary film document with transcript available below.
A shoreline holds in near-silence. A voice notes the interval between tide lines, then leaves the image alone long enough for the wind to become structural.
Weather-led documentary short
Lila Santoro
A documentary short where shoreline movement and delayed reframing become the narrative structure.
Director note
A documentary short where shoreline movement, tide, and delayed reframing become the narrative structure.
Shoreline Proof is built from repeated returns to one stretch of coast. Instead of treating weather as atmosphere, the film lets tide, wind, and delay become the narrative structure.
The edit stays slow enough for reframing to be visible. Each return to the same shoreline condition changes what counts as foreground, witness, and event.
Production notes
Multiple returns to the same stretch of coast established a record of tide and wind changes before the edit began.
Reframing was held long enough in the edit for the act of looking to become part of the film’s visible structure.
